ŠANOV SUMMER NIGHT
Experience a unique evening of folklore filled with music, dance, and traditions! The Poľana University Folk Song and Dance Ensemble–the oldest Slovak expatriate association presenting traditional Slovak folklore–brings together Czech, Moravian, and Slovak students and expatriates living in the Czech Republic.
Following the performance by the Poľana Folk Song and Dance Ensemble, the program continues with a cimbalom gathering featuring the Vinohrad Folk Band, composed of alumni of the Dyjavánek Znojmo Children’s Folk Ensemble, who typically play songs from Moravia (Horňácko, Slovácko, Valašsko, and Lašsko), occasionally songs from the Moravian-Slovak border region, and, on rare occasions, songs from Slovakia and Bohemia.
