Jazz concerts in Znojmo 2024
WINE GOES TO JAZZ!
The Znojmo JazzFest continues for the sixteenth year, bringing famous jazzmen from all over the world to Znojmo. You can look forward to a unique performance by excellent musicians who are dedicated to both the traditional concept of jazz and its offshoots such as blues, Latin, funk or soul. Of course, everything is pleasantly coordinated with tastings of delicious wines from Znojmo winemakers under the motto: “Wine Goes To Jazz”.
Tellinger & Fresk Quartet (JAR/USA)
They met twelve years ago and since then their American-style jazz has thrilled audiences from Cape Town to their new home of Prague. “Between Berlin and BeBop” – newly arranged songs by one of the most famous music composers of the 20th century.
Crossover Quintet (CZ)
The repertoire is built on the layout of a piano trio and enriched with double bass and the beautiful voice of Josefína Čermáková. This connection creates an original concept of a concert song with a significant element of vocal arrangements, where all members of the ensemble are not only instrumentalists, but also vocalists.
Peter Lipa & Vojtěch Dyk (SK/CZ)
Come and listen to an exclusive combination of jazz and blues as well as the connection of two distinctive vocal expressions of a jazz legend and a popular singer and performer! Such a connection will definitely not leave anyone in doubt.
Brave Rival (UK)
Brave Rival, together with Cinelli Brothers, Catfish, Elles Bailey, Kyla Brox and Ramblin Preachers, currently belong to the absolute top of the British blues rock scene. This UK Blues Award nominated band hails from Portsmouth and features the powerful and beautiful duos of Chloe Josephine and Lindsey Bonnick. Ed “The Shred” Clarke plays lead guitar, providing the dramatic guitar solos and growling rock riffs, and everything is held together by the rhythmic backbone, the self-proclaimed engine room of Billy Dedman (bass) and Donna Peters (drums). In Znojmo, they will play a special acoustic set in the church of St. John the Baptist on Masaryk Square.
„The interest is amazing. I know that the combination with wine also does it, but jazz clearly wins.”
Peter Lipa, patron of the festival
